Her draw to nature...
"Nature has been my teacher, my companion,
my holding space
Nature is wise, giving and does not discriminate
Nature has its own pace and time and
cannot be rushed
Nature embraces ALL of us
Nature does not keep count, and even in its destruction, it brings upon renewal
Nature reminds me to follow the rhythm of life
And the important of Trusting…"

Her professional interests

Passion in Supporting Helping professionals
In recent years, Soak Mun has also taken special interests in supporting helping professionals with their own personal growth or in providing clinical supervision to fellow therapists.
She believes strongly in capacity building within the mental health field and thus, offered sliding scale rates to helpers within the community, so that they can continue with the good work they do in the community.
Having had the privilege of working with counsellors and art therapists in her last clinical supervision role, Soak Mun is also keenly interested in working with process aspect of supervisees’ therapeutic work within the clinical supervision space.
Moving into Nature...
Recently, Soak Mun rekindled her love and passion for nature and started bringing therapy outdoors. She has found this recent shift immensely inspiring and healing for both her clients and herself. With the launch of ecotherapy practice, Soak Mun hopes to eventually support children, youths and adults in Residential or Rehabilitation settings in Singapore, using ecotherapy as a way to support long term change.
Other than the typical mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety) and life transition issues, Soak Mun is passionate about working with adults who has complex PTSD or experienced developmental trauma in their lives. She hopes that such work may contribute to the reduction of intergenerational trauma between generations.
She is also conversant in working with people who identified themselves with traits of personality disorders or on the dissociative disorder continuum and works from a relational and attachment-based lens.
