About Us

why hearth

The noun HEARTH  refers to the floor of a fireplace that serves as the center of a home, one that provides warmth and light, food and protection to us.

In many ways, we see individuals’ therapeutic journeys as a process of “homecoming”, where we seek to return to the essence of who we are, what we represent and how we relate to ourselves and others from our core inner SELF.

To do this, we need a warm, safe and nurturing home as a ‘secure base’ from which we explore these journeys.

Why Hearth?

The name HEARTH came to us in a serendipitous way
~ a constellation derived from the words Heart and Earth.

As we ponder over the word Heart and Earth, we notice how both words comprise of the same alphabets.

This was when our name "HEARTH" was born!

For us, HEARTH thus represents a metaphorical connection to nature, and evokes an imagery of warmth, safety, and comfort.

Our Philosophy of Care

We believe that psychological healing occurs through individuals’ hearts and bodies, not just their minds.

As therapists, a core aspect of our work lies in providing a safe, warm and nurturing holding space for our clients as we support them in working through life challenges.

As nature lovers who have experienced healing within the warm embrace and nurturance of Mother Earth, we see a parallel between what Mother Earth have offered us and what we aspire to provide for our clients in the therapy space.

With this in our hearts, at Hearth Ecotherapy and psychology practice, we aspire to be a source of warmth and containment with the healing power of nature and therapy, emphasizing a safe and nurturing space for individuals to work through their emotional and psychological challenges through connection with the natural world, both indoors and outdoors.
